SUMMARY:How to Tell a Story With Wildlife Photography
DESCRIPTION:A Zoom presentation by wildlife photographer\, conservationist\, and social media expert Preeti Desai. \nPhotographers often want their images to look beautiful and carry meaning. But how does one add emotional and ecological depth to bird\, insect\, and other wildlife photos? This hour-long virtual talk will focus on photography that connects viewers to places\, sparks empathy\, inspires action\, and reveals the quiet truths of the natural world. The event is free and open to the public\, but you must register in advance at this Zoom link. If you have any accessibility requests\, please email info@orangecountynyaudubon.org by April 15. \nPreeti Desai is a nature photographer who is passionate about wildlife\, conservation\, and science. She uses photography and videography thoughtfully to inspire and motivate people to appreciate and protect birds. Preeti volunteers with the Feminist Bird Club of Jersey City and Jersey City Birds. Her work has been published by Audubon\, Hemispheres\, and Time\, among others. You can find her on Instagram @preetalina or preetalina.com.

SUMMARY:Earth Day Sanctuary Cleanup
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Earth Day by helping Orange County Audubon Society clean up a beloved sanctuary. We will meet at the 6 ½ Station Sanctuary kiosk (rather than at the Heritage Trail) and start with a walk along the nature trails to  the observation platform. After\, we will spend some time clearing invasive species such as autumn olive\, multiflora rose\, and Japanese honeysuckle from the sanctuary fields. Work tools will be provided. Bring sturdy shoes and plenty of water and be sure to check for ticks before going home. \nPlease email info@orangecountynyaudubon.org to register as parking is limited. \nNote: If you have a 2026 OCAS calendar\, this cleanup replaces the one originally scheduled for April 18th.
