Birding at Liberty Loop
January 19 @ 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm
Our group will walk around the marsh at the Wallkill River National Wildlife Refuge, hoping to spot Northern harriers, rough-legged hawks, white-crowned sparrows, and other winter birds. From the parking area at sunset we also hope to glimpse some short-eared owls. Please come dressed for cold weather and check the OCAS website or Facebook page before coming in case winter conditions force us to reschedule. If the parking area is full, you may be able to park at the Winding Waters trailhead a half-mile up the road or Owens Station Crossing (136 Owens Station Road), which provides access to the back portion of the Liberty Loop trail. Please email info@orangecountynyaudubon.org with any questions or requests regarding this field trip.
